Heechul/Victoria. | Rating: PG | Genre: AU!Romance | Disclaimer: I don't own them, SME does. Plot is mine. | Summary: Their first meeting is at a corner, but it doesn't end there.
Heechul turns a corner and lifts his eyes from the ground. He forgets how cold the morning breeze is against his cheeks, how the air stings the tips of his fingers, how the bursts of smoke almost blinds his vision when he breathes out.
The man forgets to breath.
“Excuse me,” she apologizes.
Her eyes are large and round, cheeks tinted with a light rosy pink. Those slightly trembling lips of hers reminds him of his own; cherry red and luring. He shakes his head and makes space for her to pass.
“I’m sorry,” he forces out, turning and catching her by the forearm just as she passes him by. “Do you think you’d be interested in a drink?”
She smiles, and her smile is warming. “I actually have to get to class.”
“Oh,” he says, and his expression is only a little bit dejected- just a little.
The girl shrugs apologetically, knitting her brows together. She glances around them, stuffing her hands into her jacket pockets. Heechul can see that she’s still shivering.
“Here,” he offers, and he unwraps his scarf from around his neck.
She shakes her head and waves her hand, rejecting his offer. “No, I couldn’t-”
“I don’t take no for an answer,” Heechul replies. He smirks and wraps the woolen scarf around her gently, softly tying it at the end. When he retracts his hand, his fingers brush against the soft of her chin - maybe accidentally, maybe not.
A chuckle is the utmost token of her appreciation. She lowers her gaze to grin down at the cloth now wrapped about her, curling her fingers around it and gripping it tight. She feels as if he’s bound her to himself. “Thank you,” she bows slightly.
Heechul shrugs indifferently. “So, about that drink.”
“There’s a cafe near my class,” She answers, “I could meet you there to return the scarf to you.”
The man beams, nodding. “I’ll walk you to class.”
“I don’t take no for an answer,” Heechul emphasizes.
She laughs. “Right.”
They begin walking, shoulders brushing every now and then. He can smell the fragrance of summer and flowers every time the breeze whips through her hair, and relishes in it. When they reach the school grounds, he stops and waits for her to enter.
“Wait-” he calls out, just before she reaches the institution gates.
She turns around, eyes wide with anticipation.
“What’s your name?” Heechul asks.
The girl stares at him, as if she’s astonished, but eventually he sees a smile spread across her milky complexion. “Victoria,” she replies, and turns towards her classroom once again.
He watches as she disappears, the corners of his lips raising with sweetness. “Victoria,” he repeats under his breath.
The name feels good on his lips.
Believe in Love
Henry/Victoria | Rating: PG | Genre: AU!Drama, Romance | Disclaimer: I don't own them, SME does. Plot is mine. | Summary: They're both such love-able people, and maybe they're more loved than they believe they are.
From a distance, she can see that he’s happily conversing with someone. His lips are upturned and he has the brightest expression on - the kind that she doesn’t get to see often - and it brings a smile to her own lips.
Her breath hitches when he glances in her direction, and their eyes meet for the briefest second.
There is a sullen pause over the phone line, and he hears the hesitance that is not voiced.
“Vic? Is that you?”
Victoria takes a deep breath, and gathers up her courage. “I think we need to end this.”
She’s sure he understands what she means. She knows that, deep inside, he thinks the same. But he enjoys avoiding reality.
“Henry,” she says, biting down on her bottom lip, “we both know that this probably isn’t love.” Not on your part, at least.
He feigns ignorance. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Don’t you love m-”
“But you don’t love me,” she interjects. “Love isn’t a one-sided game, it cannot be complete unless both sides are willing to play - to give it their all. You don’t know what love is, Henry.”
And she doesn’t blame him, because Henry’s young and there’s so much in this world that he hasn’t seen. He’s been hurt before and for someone like him, someone so fragile, it takes longer and more to heal him from the wounds.
Victoria cannot piece him back together; not if he doesn’t feel the same for her.
She hears him breathing on the other end, she can almost see the confusion in his innocent face. “Am I not love-able?” He asks.
“That’s not it,” she shakes her head, despite him not being able to see. “I just think we need a break.”
Henry furrows his brows. “How long?”
“Long,” she says.
The younger boy chews on his inner cheek, leaning back in his seat. “Okay,” he says, but he can already feel a foreign pain in his chest. “In the meantime, I’ll learn what love is.”
“How?” Victoria asks.
Henry raises a fist to his chest and lightly pounds on it, just loud enough so that she can hear. “Losing you.”
Victoria loses her ability to breath, to see, to hear. Everything turns black for a moment, and her nose feels sour. She wants to hold Henry, she wants Henry to hold her, so bad. So, so bad. No words formulate in her mind.
“I’ll miss you,” Henry breaks the silence.
She runs her eyes across the empty room, forcing a smile. “Me too.”
“Can’t you make the break shorter?” He jokes. “Long seems like too long.”
Victoria chuckles, running a hand through her hair. “I just might. I want to see you again already.”
The younger boy laughs. “Me too.”
Perhaps she’s more loved than the both of them believed.
Familiarize With Me
Changmin/Victoria | Rating: PG | Genre: AU!Romance | Disclaimer: I don't own them, SME does. Plot is mine. | Summary: Not everyone has the patience to wait an eternity.
It’s as if their memories are bound together, linked in a supernatural sort of way.
He stares at her from across the lounge, and their eyes meet, but no words are exchanged. She smiles at him, and he smiles back, but there are underlying messages that they can’t quite decipher without an extra push from each other - a hardening gaze.
It feels as if they’ve met before, an eternity ago.
The feeling to speak to her is overwhelming, intense. This is an urge he’s never had before.
“Do you have a moment?”
She pulls her attention away from the book on the table and raises her line of sight to the man standing beside her. “Can I help you?”
“I’m Max,” he briefly introduces himself, in addition to a killer smile.
He holds out a hand and she shakes it, bowing slightly. “I’m Victoria.”
“Have we, by any chance, met before?”
Victoria fails in holding out a laugh, covering it with the back of her hand as best as she can. Max blushes slightly, lowering his eyes.
“I know it sounds like a cheesy pickup line,” he begins explaining, “but I’m dead serious.”
After hearing his words, Victoria clears her throat and excuses her behavior. “I-” she pauses, tilting her head as she observes him closely with her dough-like eyes. “I’m not really sure.”
“Do you at the least feel as if we’ve met before?” Max probes.
“Perhaps,” Victoria says, biting on her lips nervously. “I’m sorry, I really don’t know.”
The boy shakes his head. “It’s okay.”
They learn more about each other during later encounters- mornings in cafes, lunches on a hot day, sometimes even dinner before or after a movie. Familiarizing has never been so hard before, but Max feels like this is something he needs to do, because there’s something about her - something about Victoria - that makes him feel attached.
Victoria always seems to be distant, holding up an invisible barrier between them.
He wants to tear it down.
“What do you hold most precious to yourself?” He asks her one evening.
Victoria ponders over the question, her hands clutched over her chest. The way her bangs fall over her eyes makes them unreadable, desirable. “Promises.”
“The promise to never forget,” she clarifies. “It’s a promise to myself, really.”
Max smiles, a smile from his bosom. “What don’t you want to forget?”
“Someone that was very important to me as a child,” she says.
Max watches as her eyes soften and her cheeks become the faintest shade of red.
“I wonder if he thinks the same.”
“You’re not from here, are you?” Max guesses. “This isn’t where you feel at home.”
Victoria looks him straight in the eyes, her expression questioning. “How did you know?”
“I recognized you from the start,” he proudly proclaims, “Song Qian.”
She honestly doesn’t know if things could get any weirder.
“I’ll give you one guess as to who I am,” Max grins.
Victoria shakes her head in confusion, her hands cradling her own cheek. “I-”
“One huge hint,” he stands and bends over the table, leaning towards her. She snaps back when he’s just about to lay his lips on her forehead, but he reaches out and holds her in place. “Shim-”
“-Changmin!” She suddenly shouts.
He was the only one to ever tease her like this, even when they were kids. “You held out our promise.”
Victoria abruptly stands and wraps her arms around him, pulling him close. “I simply waited.”
“You’re stronger than I am,” Changmin smiles into her hair, “for waiting.”
She pulls back and blinks into his eyes. “What do you mean?”
“I wasn’t strong enough to wait, I didn’t have the patience,” Changmin explains. He leans forward and plants a kiss on her lips. “So I came and searched for you instead. But you - you would have waited forever.”
Victoria smiles, and leans her forehead against his shoulder.
“I’d wait an eternity, for you.”
More Than The World
Kyuhyun/Victoria | Rating: PG | Genre: AU!Romance | Disclaimer: I don't own them, SME does. Plot is mine. | Summary: He wants to show his love off to the world.
She tries to snatch her hand back when he reaches out for it, but he holds a firm grasp and pulls her into his side instead. “What are you so scared of?” He asks her, but all she does is lower her cap over her face and hides it from the world.
Kyuhyun sighs, shaking his head.
“Do I embarrass you?” He teases. “What is it about us that you’re so ashamed of?”
Victoria elbows him in the ribs, pushing him away in the process. He smirks. “Stop that. What if we get caught?”
They walk up to a movie theater, but Victoria grabs his hand and pulls him away. “I thought you wanted to see a movie,” he accuses, raising a brow.
“I did,” she says, “not anymore. Did you not see how many people were there?”
Kyuhyun rolled his eyes, weaving his fingers into hers and squeezed her hand. “Relax, would you?”
“How can I?” She sighs. “Our careers are on the line. I wish that we-”
“What?” Kyuhyun scoffs. “You wish that we never dated to begin with?”
Victoria freezes, eyes stern on the ground before her. Kyuhyun bites down on his lip and kicks himself mentally.
“That’s not what I meant,” he apologizes.
“No, you’re right,” Victoria replies. Her voices is shaking, just like her hands are in his hold. “That was what I was about to say.”
Kyuhyun releases the breath he’d been holding. He steps up and wraps his arms around her neck, luring her into his chest. She wraps her arms around his waist.
“I’m sorry,” Victoria breathed into his shoulder, “I shouldn’t be thinking things like that.”
He shook his head, tightening his embrace. She’s not close enough - she never feels close enough. “I understand. You’re just concerned.”
Victoria raises her chin, her hands stroking his back gently. “You mean the world to me, Kyuhyun.”
“I know,” he sighs.
“I don’t want you to be hurt - get hurt - because of me, because of us,” she continues.
Kyuhyun nods. “I know.”
She shuts her eyes, furrowing her brows, as she pushes herself deeper into his arms. “I want you to be happy.”
“Hey,” he laughs, pulling away. “I am happy.”
Her eyes are unbelieving, simply gazing into his eyes with a regretful expression. Kyuhyun rolls his eyes again, taking her hand and dragging her along with him as he runs. He doesn’t know where they’re going, or how far they will be away from the city - away from the people, away from gossip and rumors and pain and fear - when they are done running.
He simply runs, running away with her.
And beside him, he can hear Victoria laughing - setting aside the secrecy of their relationship, throwing away facades and walls of defense. She’s laughing and happy; she’s Song Qian - the girl he had so deeply fallen for.
They stop when they are out of breath, still laughing off the top of their lungs as they gasp for air.
When they calm down, he smiles and leans over to kiss her fully on the lips.
Victoria tangles her arms around his neck.
Kyuhyun pulls her flush against him.
They kiss amidst laughter, chuckling in between breaths of air.
Disregarding the stinging of their lungs from the cold winter air, they hold each other and dismiss reality - living in a world of their own.
It is the moment they stop kissing that she feels insecure again. “We should go back.”
“No,” Kyuhyun answers defiantly.
Victoria smiles, threading her fingers into his. He holds them tightly and kisses her again.
“We should really go back now.”
He grunts deep in his throat and nods reluctantly. When she tries to release her hands from his hold, he stops walking and shakes his head at her.
“Mine,” he says, with a childish pout.
The girl looks up at him and bites back another smile. She nods, and he nods back at her with the most cocky grin. She likes it.
They continue walking, but this time she doesn’t try to hide - she doesn’t pull away. This time, and perhaps this will be the only time, Kyuhyun feels as if they are both proud of their relationship.
He wants this to be a love the whole world can acknowledge.
A high profile love.
A/N: I am in love with Victoria, okay? ;A; YETORIA IS MY NEW OTP, PEOPLE. (I actually am writing them, for those who are wondering why I didn't write them on this post. It's still in progress and it'll be much longer!!) These pairings (except for Changmin and Kyuhyun) were assigned by Nyx. I just HAD to include those two. The three of them are BFF's, how could I not?! There are two others that I have yet to complete.
